Our study of geometry is underway! Along with doing their regular math homework and studying math facts,
your child should also be spending some time studying their math vocab. There’s a great online resource for this
that I just learned about, and shared with the children: Quizlet. The third grade teachers at Wheeler have put all
of the vocab words on there, and there are electronic flashcards, games, and quizzes available. We’ll have a quick
vocab quiz next week to see how they’re doing.
Please keep an eye on the amount of candy and super sugary treats your child brings to school. A healthier snack is better able to keep him/her focused and learning through the morning than a sugary one. A little treat at lunch is great if you want, but too much sugar may wind them up and make it harder to settle and concentrate on their afternoon reading.
